Can you live with it!

Monday, January 14, 2013

Any title of articles with " diet" in has be interested instantly ! Maybe there's a new diet now that works wonders? That's wishful thinking of course, but often there is some advice in an article that is useful.
I read one on wheat, maybe if I cut all wheat from my diet I would lose weight! But following it was an article saying wheat is ok..?
So what's a girl to do? When I first started on the lose weight trail it was cut out bread and potatoes. Now we are told its ok to eat them! I will not bore you with all the other fancy theories that have come my way over the years. I am doing it my way now sensible eating and exercise.
I read yet another article today. The last paragraph caught my eye.
It says "acceptance is the key. Acceptance, tolerance and understanding , but above all , not letting anyone tell you how to live your life".
Now that is a mantra I can live with, can you?

Very well said, Irene! The only "diet" that works is the one you believe in.
Please, express your opinions on NEVER TOO LATE TO GET FIT just as I do.
That is what SPARK Blogs, and Huddles and Chats are all about.

Not listening to others telling you how to live you life - nice one and one for me to remember. Everything in moderation is something I've discovered on this journey.

I agree Ree, healthy eating and moving more are far more important.

However people get thousands of pounds to research the other 'crazy' options or to sell those 'diet plans' - all down to money.

Yes, healthy eating isn't a "one size fits all" business. Finding out what works for them is the way forward for each of us. emoticon

I like that mantra! I have discovered that eating everything is acceptable, but only a little bite of some things. I don't go by the fad of the moment, but eat in a balanced way and trying to get the veggies in as much as I can.
