For well over a decade I have been asking my son to clean his room. He would never do it completely and as the years went by, especially as he got older and GOD knew (okay I KNOW) what he might be doing in there ..... I stopped doing much but giving it a cursory glance to make sure nothing was growing on the floor.
Yesterday after I got my cup of coffee I thought I'd give it a look just to see what it looked like when he wasn't there. I ended up cleaning the entire room. I folded and organized his clothes. I cleaned off the dresser and the desk. He has a couple of other tables that I also cleaned up and organized. I switched the comforter. I found a few things that I can't mention and which I will attempt to erase from my mind. But it is finally clean.
He is going to be really pissed off when he comes home. Well, if you get asked to do something for over a decade and never do it, things like this might happen.
He will in part be upset about a few of the unmentionables that I found. I really don't think he should be ashamed and will tell him as much. I can apologize for that. But you know he didn't even hide any of it.
I did find a few packs of cigarettes. I know he went through a brief period when he was smoking. Then he gave it up. I hope he doesn't pick it up again.
I then went on to his bathroom. 2 trunks that I have. My office closet. My bathroom cupboards. The junk drawers in my kitchen. My spice cupboard. Underneath my bathroom sink.
I found some cool stuff.
Since organizing everything is really project I started months ago everything, I mean EVERYTHING (well except the nails and bolts and stuff in the garage) is organized. I have one last thing to do - my filing cabinent.
I am going to do that today and then I am going to go get myself a pedicure.
That's the plan.
