I love reading weight loss success stories. They serve as a constant reminder to me that others have faced the fight with flab and won. If they can do it, then most certainly I can, too. Anywho, this evening I read a story about a lady who had lost well over 100 pounds. She shared that her Aha moment came after falling in the backyard and breaking her ankle. She was so heavy that her hubby could not pick her up off the ground. Instead, he had to bring a sheet outside, roll her onto it, and drag her into the house that way. How humiliating!! I cringed reading her story, both out of embarrassment for her, but also out of the sad fact that her story could very easily become mine. Let's face it: I weigh almost 300 pounds. If I fell and wasn't able to get up, nobody I know could pick me up, let alone carry me to safety. That story will forever be imbedded in my brain. Sometimes fear can be a powerful motivator. I thank God for that woman and others like her, who are willing to share their very personal struggles in order that we might be motivated and Inspired.
