Disney...Then and Now (comparison pics!)

Sunday, January 13, 2013

I've mentioned before that Andy and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon in 2007. That whole year leading up to our wedding, I easily gained at least 20 pounds, maybe more. We had bought a house and we were living on our own for the first time, I was working a second job, and planning the wedding became a stressful thing for a while (ahem, very Type-A mom and sister vs. very NOT Type-A me!). The poundage came on easily and I was probably the heaviest I'd ever been (up to that point) the day I said I do.

I remember the weight I was the day I first started trying on wedding dresses, though, and am happy to say I am almost 10 pounds less than that now! It got me thinking, as I looked over all the pictures from this past trip, that it would be great to see how I've changed since then, and for the better!

So, looking back, here's a few pics showing the then and now! (Sorry if some of these are repeats from the last blog -- I'm the photographer in this household, so there aren't as many pics of me!)

2007:

And now, 2012:

I see a big difference. I actually think I might look a little younger in the pictures now (aside from a few laugh lines, maybe!). But definitely healthier. It makes me a little sad that my younger self couldn't be where I am now, but more than anything I am proud of myself! Look at what I've done and will continue to do! I can't wait to see where I am a few months from now!

Amazing!! What a wonderful difference! You look so much younger and brighter! And tinier, of course!

I would love to go back to Florida and re-do some of my same poses from our honeymoon there in 2010.. okay, maybe after Bean is born!

In the words of one fine American, "GAWRSH" Erin! Of course that is Goofy, who else could I really go with here? But GAWRSH is right, look at the difference! I think I am with you, you do look younger! But even better is how much healthier you look! Good for you! You should be really proud of yourself!

It makes me a little sad also that my younger self couldn't be where I am now. But in the words of the fine philosopher Rafiki (from the Lion King...hey, it's a Disney themed blog here), "The past can hurt. But the from way I see it, you can either run from it, or... learn from it."

I'd say you have learned well! Who knew all these Disney characters could be so motivational and relate to Spark? Nothing's Impossible...wait a second...

There is a HUGE difference!!! You look so much healthier now! And your arms have shrunk by half! Holy cow! You definitely should be proud of yourself! All the hard work is paying off, and you are looking fantastic.
