Perfect day off!

Sunday, January 13, 2013

This may not be everyone's idea of a perfect day, but this is how the day went.

Slept until 7:30 (heavenly), on our way to the gun show within the hour and had a McGriddle at Macs and pop to suck on the way. Drive for over an hour to Rochester, MN and had nice chats abut this and that with hubby. Gun show was one of the better ones, big and worth the drive there. Took our time strolling around, found some cool targets we bought for practicing at 300 yards for this summer. They are like what is called Shoot N See, but the these have different colors for each ring value when you hit them. Will be easier to see our hits at 300 yards through the scopes. Very cool find.

Best find was a pistol that Jim had been wanting to get for a backup target pistol. We saw it and finished walking the show and then went back to look at it again. The price was very good, and I made an offer of $100 less and the dealer took it! So we did the paperwork and walked away very pleased and happy with our find. Didn't expect to find or buy anything like that today, but things don't always work out that way. emoticon

Headed for home and more discussions and plans made for shooting this summer and setting this new one up for shooting. Did another Mac attack and each of us just had a cheeseburger for a quick filler. Will order another magazine clip for it tonight. It came with three , but Jim likes to have four for competing since there is so much magazine loading done during a match. We will swap out a red dot sight for it from another pistol and then pick up another red dot down the road to save some $$$ right now. The nice thing is this pistol came with the frame for mounting the red dot. This is normally a $180 add on or more.

Home and unload everything and I cleaned my .22 pistol while Jim set up the new one so he could sight in in at leagues on Monday. Then went to fill up the gas tank and hit Office Max to drop off some old ink Cartridges. Got some groceries and a redbox movie and home to eat dinner.

Very nice low key day overall. Not much in the way of being Sparky today, but was so nice just to relax and not worry about work or the gun club stuff. I sent all the new member info to the Board last night for Approval, so that part is done. Now it is up to the Board to approve them and then I can send out the acceptance letters. The weather was pretty chilly, 10 degrees above zero basically today with just enough wind to remind you that it is winter in Minnesota. Was not in the mood to go for a walk outside at all, and we figured walking the gun show would work for today. A nice lazy kind of day for a change. I like that!
