I just did real honest to goodness got my heart rate up, and broke a sweat exercise!
My husband and I had my 7 year old (who is a gymnast and has been doing 5+ hours a week of athletics for over a year) lead me through her normal gymnastics warm up routine (lunges, yoga, stretching) then we spent 10 minutes jumping between the gyms 5 machines. We would jump on the machine and try to to max it out for 2 minutes before we jumped off and ran to the next machine (it's an apartment complex gym with 5 machines and the place was empty). It was sort of like we made up our own version of Curves. What matters is that the whole family was in there moving and laughing! I am very very happy.
I'm happy because 20 minutes is double my goal of 10 minutes and it's 100X more than I have done anytime in the past year.
It's a big step in the right direction.
