Got in some fitness minutes and intended to eat better, but plans are made to be broken. Had a big salad at Zaxby's and that meant 4 servings of veggies. It was doughnut Sunday, and I couldn't resist one doughnut.
Had a sad episode today as well as I attended the funeral of a 21-year-old boy who is a church friend. He was killed in a single car accident at 2 in the morning. He wasn't wearing his safety belt, and he fell asleep behind the wheel (at least that's the way it looked in the paper). He was such a nice sweet fellow that I had enjoyed watching grow up since he was around 10. This reminds me that we need to enjoy life and live to the fullest, because we never know when our time will be up. There were probably more than 400 people at the service and I watched it from a smaller room on a screen.
I did my Wii Fit today and it's a lot of fun. I'm contemplating buying some risers for the balance board so that the step aerobics would be more challenging. There is a step program you can buy on the Wii channel to do more step aerobics. Those are the kind of workouts I can do as I have two left feet. I've used my resistance band using Coach Nicole videos. There are quite a few exercises you can do with that band and you can feel the burn! I have not gotten much use out of my ball, but hopefully I will finally get jiggy with it and do more with it. I do not like getting on the floor even with my brand-new-extra-cushiony mat! Wii Fit Plus has a strength training move that is considered for "advanced" users which is pretty much just going from standing with the remote overhead to lying down, remote still held aloft, and then returning to a standing position, remote held over head. That would be quite a move for me! I need to do it without the remote and Wii fitness lady and see if I can get up in any way gracefully. I'll be lean and strong when I can do this! I'm doing more and more of the strength and yoga moves on Wii Fit and trying to build up my strength while I whittle away at my pounds.
Tomorrow is my son's birthday. We usually take the kids out to the restaurant of their choice, but he has requested my homemade lasagna. I wish I had known of his wish prior to going to the grocery! I will need a few more ingredients to do it. I guess I'm off to the grocery again tomorrow morning.
My weight has crept up and I need to get on the good foot with my eating before weigh-in time. I have a few ideas about ways to curb my calories before Tuesday.
Sunday is my big TV watching night. I want to see some of the Golden Globe awards. I love to see all the fashions. I used to be more interested in movies than I am right now, but I still like to see who wins, etc.
Hope everyone is attending to their goals and NOT giving up no matter how hard the going gets or how weak they feel. If you eat a sugary yummy, glug down 8 ounces to fight it back! Change is all in our own hands.
