Oh the joys of routine change! I had started tracking my food since the start of the year in the hopes that it would really be a part of my routine. I have Spark People on my phone and as a start tab on my computer so that it is there and very available all the time. Well I started back up with my 4th semester of nursing school this week and tracking went out the window for the most part. I am not sure whether it was just I didn't want to track what I was actually eating or whether it was just an "out of time" excuse, but this week sucked. So this week my goal is to track every single day every thing I eat. I start clinicals this week so it maybe interesting to see how it all works in, but this is something I have to do for myself. I do so much better with what I eat when I have to track it. When I let tracking slide, I eat like crap... I am sure this happens to many people.
The nursing school I attend is also doing a fitness challenge this semester. $10 to enter for 12 weeks of 150 minutes of physical activity above and beyond your normal routine. Well, I don't normally do anything so 150 minutes a week shouldn't be too tough! You get entered into a drawing in the middle of the challenge and then a drawing at the end for people that are able to complete at least 150 minutes a week for the 12 weeks. I think that will be an awesome way to get more activity started into my routine. It's is dang cold outside, but I have indoor walking dvd's as well as access to a few things on the cable box to get some movement in. I know my son Izaak would love to challenge me to a few Just Dance songs to get some movement in. I am definitely going to participate this year and hopefully get more benefit out of it than just physical exercise! :-)
