Fasts are Slow

Sunday, January 13, 2013

I'm going nuts (ohmygod that's a FOOD)! Today is 'prep day' / fasting for tomorrow's colonoscopy. I haven't even started the ....[TMI] ....bowel prep, but not eating is driving me crazy.

We're supposed to eat in little healthy bits, right? Yes, but not today.

We're supposed to *not* FAST AND CRASH, right? Yes, but today is different. It's a moderated medical task to prepare for a medical procedure.

But, but, but---I've finally trained my brain THIS WAY. Yes, and you can survive today, and go back to the healthy eating after recovery.

Gotta say this to myself for the next 12 hours. Soon after that, I'll be sedated and ...hopefully good results.

The procedure itself is....highly unpleasant for me....but...since this doctor always finds pre-cancerous polyps every time she goes in,'s necessary.

Just a couple more hours until I'm sedated and then wake up and it's done.

It is most important that you don't eat just have fluids because if you bowel is not clean they cannot do the proceedure, I know as I work in the department and also if it's not clear there is a chance you have to come back and do it all over again.

WRITEAWAY 1/14/2013 12:31AM many more hours until they put me out? eeeeeeeek.

But I have learned a LOT about hydration, water weight, DEhydration, hunger vs thirst, hunger vs appetite, hunger vs "it's time to eat"..... I'd write about it, but the know, stuff, is working, aaaaaaaaugh.

Hopefully she doesn't find cancerous stuff this time.
