Met My Goal- Half My Size- 127 Pounds Gone Forever

Sunday, January 13, 2013

This blog is 4.5 years in the making. Itís a blog that Iíve thought about and dreamt about for 4.5 years. There are times that I thought it would never come, but it did.

Iíve reached my goal. Half my original size. 126 pounds. Gone. Forever.

I started my weight loss journey in July of 2008, motivated by wedding dress shopping and the desire to start my married life as a different person. I wanted to be able to go shopping in a normal store. I wanted to eat without being embarrassed. Moreover, I didnít want my weight to hold me back from doing anything anymore. I wanted to be healthy.

In the past 4.5 years, I have become a new person. A fit person. Iíve become a mom and maintained a healthy weight during pregnancy (twice!). Iíve become a runner and am training for my second half marathon. Iíve lost a total of 127 pounds and have gained a new life.

I have an amazing, supporting husband, friends and family that have held me accountable for the past 4.5 years. Theyíve believed in me when I didnít think Iíd make it. Theyíve encouraged me when I knocked myself down. Theyíve been a key part of my success. I thank God for bringing each and every one of them into my life!

Iíd love to say that it was easy and that anyone can lose half their body weight, but that would be a lie. It has not been an easy journey- itís hard work. Itís hard to resist temptation and eat clean. Itís hard to say no to sweets and yes to sweat. It takes an incredible amount of determination, self-motivation, and belief in yourself.

For those of you that are in the beginning of your weight-loss journey, donít give up. You can be here too, but youíre going to have to work. Itís not about a magic pill or special diet. Itís about eating healthy (most of the time) and exercising. Itís not about being ďgoodĒ or ďbad.Ē Itís about a lifestyle change. Itís about you re-writing your future. And you can do it!

I am totally impressed! The biggest accomplishment is to have 2 babies during this whole process! That could have been another excuse, but instead it gave you more reason.
I LOVE the part where you said, "say no to sweets and yes to sweat." That is the key. Thank you for being such a good example to so many people, and congratulations on your accomplishment! emoticon

Congratulations, Kassi!!! emoticon You were such an inspiration when you were pregnant and working out constantly. But I guess this journey was many more years in the making, and you have accomplished it. You continue to be an inspiration. I will have to keep your quote how it is "hard to say no to sweets and yes to sweat". That is so true for me. Thank you for pointing that out.
