weekly sugar intake

I know the sugar challenge said not to change my habits, but I am already changing all my habits so I am not going back to old ways. So this week I was paying attention to when my head/body wanted sugar or a sweet treat, and found that some of it is long held habits from childhood. I like a sweet end to my lunch but instead of the candy bar from the vending machine or whatever sugar was brought in by someone in the break-room I chose better. So I save my yogurt for "dessert" or some dried fruit and nuts, or fresh fruit, something that has natural healthy sugars.
My dinner post sweet is a little harder though. I want something as a treat...I have 'been good' or 'I deserve' mentality comes into my mind. I am working through a bible study on healthy relationships with food, so I usually try and read some of the that so I can remember that I actually "deserve" so much better than so sugar laden treat and the guilt that follows. I am learning that I can have something small, like a few cookies and feel satisfied with the sweet.
