Bucket List... In 2013 I want to...

Daily – enjoy what I have, look for fun things to do, live in the moment, eat a healthy breakfast, phone a friend, phone a daughter, exercise, wear nail polish on my fingernails and toenails, put on makeup, get ready to hike mountain in spring, less internet time, apply moisturizer, apply sunscreen before going outside, walk dog, read outside, up by 8 AM, take asthma meds, stay in touch with old friends.

In general - more sightseeing, explore parks, blog about feelings not just actions or plans, being kinder, lose 25 pounds, help hubby lose 25 pounds, make more friends, let my hair go back to its natural color then color if needed, walk on the beach, finish house renovations, travel the West Coast, travel Vancouver Island, visit Fort McMurray, spend more time with family.

We were highly motivated to start the New Year in a healthy way, so this January is Boot Camp Month. We are in Palm Springs at an RV resort - lots of walking, pickle ball, water aerobics, sightseeing, hiking, mini-gym - just have to get out and do some of it. We will limit night life to stay active during the day, but will go out to a few select concerts and dinners. I usually hate January - low energy, cold weather, not much sunshine so this is a nice change. I am working on daily exercise and sensible eating.

15 yearsago, I accepted that I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I assumed taking medications was the answer to treating the conditions. In 2008 I joined Spark People and learned that exercise and weight loss could improve or even eliminate these conditions. Now 2013, I still have high blood pressure and high cholesterol and now add achy joints. I am still motivated to lose weight and improve my health and know that I lack consistency. Despite diet and the exercise programs, my focus has to be on consistency. I know I can do it and I will!
