No matter what habit it is you want to stop or change, you will never be able to do it if you don't believe you can. You must be able to believe you can change your habit before you will be able to. If there is doubt or you are saying that you can't, then you won't be able to change it.
You need to wake up daily saying that you can change that habit. You can stop doing the thing that is hindering you. Once you start saying that you can, you will be able to do it, no matter what it is.
After you start the positive thought process, everything else will come easier. No one will be able to stop you once you get that thought in your mind. "I can do it!" is a strong statement. Even if someone else tells you you can't, if you believe that you can, then you're right. There might be obstacles to overcome, but you'll start trying to figure out how to overcome them and eventually you'll be finding yourself going in the direction with your goals when you believe that you can. You might even find yourself saying "this is hard" but thinking about how much better you'll feel for breaking the habit you no longer want controlling your life.
The little train that was faced with the very steep hill believed in itself and while saying "I think I can" kept going up that hill and eventually it made it all the way to the top and eventually found it easy to keep going once it was past the top of the hill. Then it said to itself "I knew I could" and it was right. You can be just like that little train continually saying "I think I can" and reach your goals, no matter how far away they seem at the time. As long as you keep the positive thought of I can in your mind, you will reach your goals and eventually you will find yourself with a new, healthier habit making life easier for you because you knew you could.
