Still waiting....

Sunday, January 13, 2013

I took my medical clearance in to my old boss, and now he says HR will contact me next week with an appointment to come in and sign the papers so I can get back to work. It is so hard waiting, but I know it's all for a reason, I just don't know what that reason is, but I know, God knows:)
I had the consultation for the colonoscopy yesterday, and they scheduled it for April 1st. I thought it was some kind of April fools joke! Are you kidding me?! That's 3 months away! But oh well, at least it will be done:)
I am supposed to have another PET scan sometime this month to check on the cancer. I have been sleeping a lot again, but I do think it is out of boredom and not having anything to do rather than the cancer.
I have been going to the job workshops, which are interesting, and I am learning new things.
I did a resume for one of the men at the homeless shelter when I took in my medical clearance. He was there last year when I worked there, and always volunteered in the kitchen. He doesn't know how to use the computer and was amazed at everything the computer can do! Simple things like changing the font size, and the copy and paste feature, moving things around on his resume. It was fun watching him be so in awe at something most people take for granted today!
I suggested that he go to one of the job centers and take some computer classes and he seemed excited about that! There is one not too far from the shelter and it is right on the bus line, so I hope he goes:)
It was only 25 degrees when I got up, so I went back to bed and missed Church. I really wanted to go today, but it was just too darn cold this morning!

We are iced in today. School closed. Very cold after 72 degrees over the weekend. Bev's court was yesterday. She sat all day but was told in the late afternoon it would be postponed for 2 more weeks. This is very hard for her.

Here's hoping you don't have to wait much longer to hear back from HR.
Nice job helping the gentleman and showing him the joys of computing. Sharing knowledge is such a great gift!

We're covered in snow this morning and it's a really strong, cold chilly wind, it's two degrees above freezing!
Great weather for emoticon

Fingers crossed for a quick return on your clearance/position.
I hear ya about the cold. When I got up this morning it was 8 degrees (with the windchill) and we had a fresh coating of ice on everything. My poor dogs didn't want to even walk on the sounded like they were walking on broken glass.

It was 16 outside and only 55 in the house this morning. Our furnace quit working sometime last night, so we had to make an emergency call for repairs today. It is working now.

I don't blame you for not wanting to go out in the cold! I turn down my thermostat at night, and some mornings, it's so cold I have a hard time getting out of my warm bed.

I hope the PET scan and colonoscopy go well!

It is cold this morning! Sorry you missed church but a warm and cozy bed does sound alluring.
I am still trying to get dogs out for a walk. Still too cold!
