Reporting Day 7

Sunday, January 13, 2013

It has been 7 days of reporting daily how I'm doing and what I'm doing to get back to my healthy life style......definitely it has helped me to get back on track because I didn't want to say in public how bad I had done the day before as the week went by I felt more comfortable following my nutrition path to good health and limits.
I'm happy to report that I lost one pound of the five I had gained and today I'm starting to follow the recommended nutrition menu provided by SP, I haven't done this in ages and I really never followed for a whole week at the time. Also pulled my food scale, measuring cups and spoons.
I'm committed to follow it through the whole week and I went shopping yesterday with my list and made my meal plans for the week.
Family watch out....you are in a life style change and don't even know about it....LOL!!!!!
I have made two small goals for this week:
1. Stick to my SP meal plan
2. Go back to walking at least 5,000 steps per day
I will report next Sunday how I did this week and Thank you all for your help...every time I received a comment I had something new to think about and how to fix it.
This is a great group to get motivation from. We are all on this journey hard to go through but not impossible if others have done it we CAN too.
Have a great week!

I promise I would only update my progress on Sundays but.....last knight I made spaghetti with ground beef (easy way out, not having to do the meat balls) then in the oven with lots of mozzarella cheese (2% reduced fat, of course) melted in top and Garlic Bread.
I made just enough for the family but my granddaughter (whom is my ally) started bragging how good it had turned out and how much she was enjoying dinner and how I was really getting serious about my healthy life style and on and on.
This is while I was eating a plate of Romaine Lettuce, 4 slices of tomatoes, turkey burger 93% lean on 1 slice of whole wheat bread, 1 cup of skim milk and 18 grapes.
After her second time of her comments I stood up to herself and told the family.....
"I have been asking for your help for the last several days and I appreciate you guys (in general to all) have been picking up after yourself after you snack or eat things I shouldn't be eating and not living them in top of the kitchen cabinets, but now you
are being very cruel by saying what you are saying to me knowing that is only going to open my deprivation mode and is going to sabotage what I'm trying to accomplish, I suggest you keep it to yourself and don't say another word and let's all enjoy our meal".
My DH took over and told her to help me out instead of creating a tempting situation while I was trying to get back on track. With that said everybody changed the subject and kept eating but it felt so good to be liberated and to give them a piece of my mind.
At the end of the meal it was a little left over (all 3 of them had seconds) and I told my grandson if you want to take to lunch tomorrow put it in a plastic container and in the fridge so I don't have to touch it or see it again....he did.
I'm on the road to recovery!

You're definitely on the right track. Not telling the family usually works best-if they ask about the foods you make just tell them you're practicing some healthier cooking or even different cooking. emoticon
