So this past week has been quite the whirlwind for me. I only had a one day weekend, and I have had so much to do in the way of pesky chores and errands that I've barely had time to breathe. Work has been super intense as well. I am so worn out, and don't know when I'll get the chance to rest properly. I really need a good night's sleep but I don't think I'm going to get one any time soon. I've still been keeping up the healthier, low-cal diet and pretty intense exercise schedule, however, so at least that is giving me some energy, even though I am still so tired.
One of the errands I had to run last week was to exchange a pair of boots that I bought a few months ago. I love the boots, and they're super comfortable, but the sole was already coming apart on the right boot, so the store agreed to exchange them for me when I went over the holidays. However, they didn't have my size then so had to order them from another location. When I went to pick them up this past Friday, it turned out that the other store had sent the wrong style, and so I'll have to make the trek out to the store again some time this week. *Grumble, grumble* Well, I didn't want to have wasted my evening entirely, so I decided to go and look for some pants, just for the fun of it, as several stores were advertising big sales, it being the post Christmas shopping slump and all. And boy, am I ever glad I decided to do that! To start, I ended up buying four pairs of pants and one sweater for just over $80, including tax. And, more importantly, three of those pairs of pants were a size...8! Can you believe it? I sure can't. When I went to get dressed today and put one of them on, I was scared that I had made some sort of mistake and they wouldn't fit me, but sure enough, they did.
When I initially started trying on the pants, I took a few pairs of size 12's in to the change room with me, of various cuts and styles. They were all too big. So I said, okay, cool, I'll go with the 10's, and I was already grinning like a fool that I could wear a size 10. Well, I tried them all on, and apart from the super skinny jeans, they were all too loose as well. (I did end up getting the size 10 jeans as well, they're a gorgeous cherry red colour). Even at this point, I thought to myself there is no way in hell I'm going to be able to fit into size 8's and thought that I would have to just buy the size 10's and wear them with a belt. But, much to my delight, I tried on several pairs of size 8's and they ALL fit me! They're a little bit snug, but I prefer my pants to be tight anyhow. I was ecstatic, ridiculously and deliriously happy. This was definitely the peak moment of my journey so far. I went from a size 20 to a size 8! I don't even remember the last time I fit into a size 8. Of course, I know that different stores measure their sizes differently, so I am sure that in several stores I'd still be at least a 10, if not a 12. But, I would have been satisfied getting into a 10. I am officially no longer a plus sized woman, even though technically, I am still considered overweight. But I don't care! I'm going to keep working on my body, firming it and toning it up as much as I possibly can. Honestly, when I started out with this, my final goal size was an 8. And I have reached it. Crazy. I still want to keep losing weight, of course, but if I don't I think I am finally at a point where I would be happy to maintain, as long as I can get myself a bit firmer. But of course, I'm going to keep trying to lose if I can. There is nothing like fitting into smaller clothes to motivate me!
I hope everybody out there is having a wonderful weekend!
