Made a mistake yesterday

Sunday, January 13, 2013

I went grocery shopping yesterday and loaded the cart with fresh vegetables and fruits to have them for our snacks for the week. I thought I had more will power over the Terra chips I bought yesterday, too. To me they are delicious! I started out with the serving suggested on the package and was happy having that as part of my lunch. I put the rest of the bag away. By the end of the day, however, I finished the entire bag (boy, those bags have gotten smaller!) Ooops...that wasn't a good thing. So today, I'm brushing myself off and getting back in here! It's a warm, winter day and will be nice for a good walk this afternoon. The chips are gone and won't be coming back to my house for a long, long time! emoticon

Salty foods are my downfall, too. I can easily devout 8 cups of popcorn with butter, salt, and nutritional yeast. It really broke my heart to realize that my normal popcorn serving was supposedly enough for 8 people (sigh). I do build it into my weekly plan now, in 2-cup servings...

Slipped this weekend too...tough to learn that certain foods can still undermine our efforts! The good part is the learnin'... :-)

Terra chips do that to me, too. Today's a new day.

Okay, so you made a mistake - we all do that from time to time. You are starting a new day with a clean slate and today can be better. ( I find chips are a trigger food for me, too, as are peanuts!) emoticon

Even my husband who does not have a weight problem at all finds it hard to resist the lure of "potato-type" chips. Except for plain tortilla chips, we consider all the rest as a "trigger" food and do not bring them home because we cannot be satisfied eating a serving size - we want to eat the entire bag. It's like they're magically coated with something that makes them irresistible!
