What a difference a week makes -Thank you SparkFriends

Last week I had a 1.7 pound gain and was feeling a little frustrated. Well thanks to all my Spark friends who gave me support & got me to think of other things to focus on than the scale. I kept doing my fitness plan, I added sodium to my nutrition tracker and kept focused on my goals. So today I lost 3.7 pounds first time below 163lbs in years. Since I stared Spark People at the end of November. I have lost 5.2 pounds. I have lost 3.75 inches in my waist my waist/hip ratio went from 0.82 to 0.76. I have lost 1.25 inches in my hips and .25 inches in each thigh.I have lost 0.8 %body fat and my BMI has went from 26.1 to 25.3 . I am only 2.2 pounds away from a normal BMI. I am 6.8 pounds from goal weight. I have been adding fitness daily and trying healthy recipes. I have also been working on decreasing my stress and improving my sleep. I am changing my life for the better it just isn't about a number. emoticon emoticon

    One of the many really excellent and important lessons I have learned from Spark People is to assess success based on evidence OTHER THAN the scale. If you want numbers, make 'em measurements, or blood pressure, or cholesterol!!! Lots of excellent numbers to rely on!

    emoticon remember the scales is not the only answer to look like you mentioned . inches lost new eating habits all help make a new healthy life style.

    The gradual, sane approach to the weight loss phase of a healthy lifestyle is, as far as I'm concerned, the ONLY way to go. Obviously, I am profoundly prejudiced in favor of Spark People!!! LOL! Keep on Sparking!
