The Vixsterlu Victory Run: My first run back :)

Saturday, January 12, 2013

I knew today was going to be epic! Before even getting out of bed, I spun 25 pts on the Spark Wheel, get my bonus spin and then I also crossed 10,000 spark points. Woohoo!

My run...well, it was friggin AWESOME with a capital A W E S O M E !!!!

Thank you ALL for your support! I felt the love as my lungs were burning. My knee felt great, a little discomfort, but no more than when I walk 4 miles. I did my usual walking loop, a 5k, ran for a little more than half the time. My knee was fine, it was my breathing that slowed me down. Well, back to where I was before I injured myself, lol.

A pic of me before I took to the pavement.

I really tried to do a video, but that didn't work out too well. Imagine me jogging around a field, yelling at my husband to tell me when he's recording, only to check the recording and he was recording when he didn't think he was and not recording when he thought he was. Oy Vey!

I got so many great messages today, I felt completely supported and loved. Thank you so much. Inspiration is a funny thing! You never know where it will pop up. I was inspired to ask for your support (thank you Doglady) and in the process we inspired each other. Gotta love that! Even met a few new Spriends in the process. I love Spark People!

Tomorrow, I take the day off from exercise. But come Monday...I am gonna start training for a 5k! Gonna start searching for the right one.

Peace out Sparkers!

It was a rest day for me, but I went out and walked the dog for an hour at 3pm EST.

Sorry, didnt make it out yesterday and a cooperative entertaining child make getting out of the house today difficult. But I WILL get it done! For you!

I agree with DogLady...knowing how much you wanted this run added an extra element of motivation to my own workout on Saturday.

You are funny. Epic indicators in the form of spark points. It cracks me up that those dang points and trophies mean so much.

What a great run! I found my breathing was the limiting factor when I decided to get serious again. It gets better really quick.

Knowing you were so looking forward to your run kept me running even though my legs were mighty tired after swimming yesterday. You are so right, we all inspire each other to do better. Our Spriends are great!

Well done! I am aiming to get to a 5k shortly too. I would like to do a 10k this year even if I walk some of it!

Congrats on getting back on that pavement!

I had an ACL reconstruction, back in July 2000, and I well remember the anxiety associated with starting to play sports again. Nice job getting in good enough shape to get out running within 6 months!
