The Beginning

This is my first week with SparkPeople. I've joined once in the past but only lurked in the shadows, too shy or perhaps overwhelmed to go much further than entering my weight and what I ate for the day. Occasionally I came back for a visit, but still didn't have the drive to do much more than look. Well, after 25 years of slowly gaining weight , I decided to finally lose it for good. So I joined SparkPeople once again. I happily got myself set up. It was just about bedtime, so I only got the preliminaries done, but I knew I could finish the fun parts the next night. Well, I had no idea that SparkPeople worked so fast or so dramatically in helping you lose weight! I woke up the next morning with a good case of the stomach flu. After a few days, I am now pretty much over it, but have dropped about 6 or 7 lbs. Now if only those kind of results could continue (without the being sick part of course!) I suppose I should watch what I wish for though. Here's to losing all that excess weight (sensibly).

    Permanent, not temporary - lifestyle, not diet.

It's never too late to change bad habits for healthy ones, IMHO.
