I am sad to say that I have not been terribly healthful these past few months. Grad school, moving, research, stress, and the inevitable health issues have not helped. I had a good groove going while I was working a normal job, but it's been awfully difficult to stick with good habits now that my free time is not really free and I don't have the disposable income to spend on the good foods that I really want to eat. Phew, I knew it would be tough to come back to school in my late twenties but I didn't think it would be so hard to be healthy!
Anyway I don't want to be a downer. I am determined to get my weight back down to the normal range, fit back into all my cute clothes, and most importantly get my body back to health! It's been tough to work out since I've been battling some health issues the past couple of months but that's no excuse for letting my food habits decline.
So what this chica needs is a Primal reboot! 30 days of hard-core wholesomeness to get myself back on track. That means:
-No added sugar
-Focus on good quality, minimally processed meat/veggies/fruits/eggs/nuts/
-10,000 steps a day
-At least 7 hours sleep/night
-Strength training 2x/week
-Start running at least 1x/week as soon as I am able
I also need to start hitting the farmers' market again. There's a winter market around here that runs clear through to the spring but I haven't had time to go since early November! That's a dang shame, since farmers' market food shopping is often a bright point of my week.
So that's the plan, beginning tomorrow - 30 days of Grokking on, getting myself back to tip-top shape. I've only got a year and a month left in my twenties, and I want to enjoy that time as healthfully as I can!
