2012 Goals - Results!!

Here are the results of the goals I set out for myself for 2012. I think I did pretty well!!

1. Run at least three 5Ks.
This past October I ran in my first 5K, and I want to do more of that in 2012! My time was 35:14, so the other part of my goal is to have at least one race that is under 35 minutes officially.

Result: I ran in three 5ks (even ran the whole way in one of them!), and I finished one of them in 34:45. A personal record, woohoo!!

2. Keep some streaks going.
I want to see how long I can keep up a streak of: eating at least 3 fruits and/or veggies, drinking 8 glasses of water, and exercising for at least ten minutes per day. All three parts are something I struggle with.

Result: Complete fail. I didn't keep this streak going for very long, but I have, at least, been managing to drink 8 glasses of water on most days.

3. Improve Fitness Assessment results.
My work offers free fitness assessments. I took one two years ago, and the results weren't so hot. I've already scheduled a fitness assessment for January 4 to find out my new baseline. My goal is to have another fitness assessment at the end of the year to see how I've improved! Last time, my body fat percentage was a whopping 33%. I want to at least lower that to 30% by the end of 2012.

Result: I'm pretty happy with this goal! I improved in all areas of the assessment, but what I'm most proud of is my body fat percentage. I started the year at 31.3% and ended the year at 28.7%!

4. Lose at least 10 pounds.
My weight has been fluctuating up and down about 5 pounds for the last several months. Accomplishing this goal would mean I've accomplished an even bigger goal -- to achieve a normal BMI!

Result: I didn't achieve this goal, but as you can see in the goal above, I managed to lose 2.6% body fat. So while I wasn't losing pounds, I was, at least, gaining muscle!!
