Here is the link for today! WE discuss whether coffee is bad for you or not?

It will answer why I will put up with 4 days of headaches to give it up!

Sunday is day 13, Monday is weigh and measure day, tip: don't eat too much salt today! Heeehhaw!

You are all doing so well.....so proud!

    Oh forgot the coffee debate:
Very individual situation. Low stomach acid, works well to speed digestion.
Hyperactiv child ( my now 20 year old)- puts him to sleep!
I do ok without it but my digestion system shuts down. Miss it, the flavor but tea works very well to replace it.
Limiting the daily amount works well for me. I cup/day gets everything going (digestion wise) but not over-stimulating the rest.

Sunday worked out pretty well. Pop - still down about 1/2 of my usual, might be able to cut that even more, still trying - or maybe I'll be able to get rid of it all together.

One cup of caffeinated tea, lots of water, no white flour except in the few noodles that ended up in my chicken veggie soup. Baked muffins with 100% ww flour and used brown sugar instead of white (and no one noticed - success!) White carbs are way way down.

Looking forward to weigh in measure day!

P.S. My tea list is fairly substantial, and often the joke when people come to visit. I'm often told I should open my own shop I have so many.

Early Grey is probably my all time favourite - especially with double bergamont.

Tension tamer (a chamomile mint rose hip etc etc concoction that I like to start my day with)

Sleepy Time (another chamomile blend) before bed

Chamomile vanilla and honey blend

Green tea with Jasmine blossoms

Chai tea (straight up or with milk)

China Oolong tea

Green tea with Roasted Brown Rice (somewhat coffee like)

Cookies and cream (which doesn't taste anything like cookies and cream to me but I like it all the same.)

Peppermint (my least favourite, actually upsets my stomach)

Spearmint (better for my tummy)

And then of course I have the berry blends which my friends tend to like, but I usually find less satisfiying.

Doing good so far....ready for weigh and measure day!

Still no coffee, had a headache last night! Seriously, how long is it going to take to get rid of the coffee headache?
Anyway, I am glad I have stuck with it, obviously there is some detoxing going on!

The coffee debate. We were restricted to drink coffee as kids. I hear that some isn't bad for you. I used to drink de-caf, but someone said they use harmful chemicals to take the caffeine out, which is more harmful than the caffeine itself. Yikes!

No hard cheese ... not so much cottage cheese either - it doesn't satisfy the tastebuds or the tactile sensation when my teeth sink into it ... we'll re-examine this at weigh-in tomorrow :)

Thanks for the link - not sure if the coffee makes a difference for me, I think it is the elimination of the crackers and tortillas (wheat) that's making the biggest difference! We'll see what happens when I have a cup after the challenge, I may not even like it any more!

Regardless of weigh-in on Monday , I'm happy to have been wheat and sugar free for 12 days! Long hike today. Planning an even longer one tomorrow. Wishing you all a great weekend!
