Just now, I did some tracking of some things that were very embarassing. 5 pieces of pizza for lunch. Ouch. That was a serious overdo. It was so good though!

However, after tracking it all, I was stricken by something.

What I consider "overeating" now is actually maintenance!

2196 calories for the day. That's far from the 3-4,000 I was eating before, when I hit 211 pounds.

My lifestyle has indeed changed. I have the odd binge, the round of too much pizza or too many snacks, but I'm not hurting myself anymore. It's okay, to have bad days. I'm going to do better tomorrow, and not make those same poor decisions. I'm not going to flagellate myself for making a mistake. It was a very tasty mistake, that I don't regret at all. ;)

And while it was a pretty hefty sodium overdose, so I'll likely be bloaty for a few days, I'm not going to pack on the pounds over 2196 calories.

    Wow, I went through kind of the same thing this weekend. I cringed at what I ate because I "pigged out". Turns out it was only 1600 calories and well within range, lol. But in my head I'm still like this emoticon

    Sometimes all we can do is to do better than what we would've before. If better means 5 pieces rather than 6, it's worth it. Perhaps at some point your do better will be making homemade pizza so it is healthier and even more delicious. Then 5 pieces won't be as many calories, will be healthier calories, and will fill you up wonderfully.

In the meantime, you've learned something important today: you can indulge now and again without completely derailing and going back to old habits and without needing to berate yourself.

    That's awesome! I just finished tracking a deliciously over indulgent dinner myself. I think that awareness is the key! We are all human, we will all slip up now and then. The important thing is to acknowledge it and continue moving forward.
