Trip to Billings...911!

Saturday, January 12, 2013

This morning I left here to take DD#2 down to Billings. She will head down to Powell. WY with her BF on Sunday or Monday. The roads were ok, no problems driving but as we left town we saw a house on fire so my DD#3, who was with us, called 911. We waited for the fire department to arrive then we continued. On the way home there was a cow on the highway on the wrong side of the fence, so I called 911 again (different county). So the drive was fine and enough excitement to keep me wide awake!

DD#3 has a friend who has family right next door to the house that burned. Thankfully no one was hurt. I'm sure the house is destroyed. :(

Yeah, hitting a cow-not a good thing, for the car or the cow...

Glad you are safe!

What an eventful trip! A house fire is a terrible thing to live through. I lost everything in one in 1999.

OK a cow on the wrong side of the fence doesn't sound like an emergency, but it is like hitting a brick wall if you hit a cow. It is VERY BAD if ranchers do not keep their fences up and fixed. The law is not kind to them if a cow gets loose.

So glad to hear no one was hurt in the fire. Cattle on the loose doesn't usually constitute an emergency but it's funny anyway.

The fire was on the east end of Lewistown. The roads were actually worse in Billings than the highway. The roads were snow covered in L-town and Roundup, but the rest of the way down was fine. Scattered stuff but I took DH's car.

Was the house in your town or in Billings? Very sad either way! Glad you made it down & back safe and sound. There have been many, many accidents in our area.
