I ran the second Saturday 10K race of the set today. We had record warm temps for this area. It was in the 40's and I dressed appropriately. I probably did not eat appropriately. I had a Cliff Bar and PowerAde about an hour and a half before the race and two GU Energy Gel Packs during. After the race I ate a bagel with peanut butter and and orange and drank a cup of coffee. So I consumed about 750 calories worth of mostly carbs and probably burned about 1100 during the race. I haven't eaten anything since, but I've had about three quarts of water. Dinner will be in two hours and will consist of broiled salmon, asparagus, and a big garden salad. That should be it. I don't feel hungry.
I recently got a foot pod to go with my Garmin. My average steps per minute was 77 with a max of 83. That's pretty consistent, but I need to work on gradually bringing those numbers up.

It must be working because my race today on the same course was just over two minutes faster. If I can continue that trend, I should be able to get back to my summer pace by the end of the month.
