I hate meetings. I hate your higher powers. I hate anyone who has a "program." To all who come into contact with me, I wish you suffering and I wish you death.

Mmm hmm... amazing just how many things we can become addicted to, and how they can interefere with our real purpose in Life. And not just drugs or alcohol, but gambling... food... even (dare I say it) the internet. [That'd be me, here in the back of the hall, with the red face.]

REALLY good blog, Carley! I do think you should repost it here to Spark. Some people are reluctant to click on any links, and this blog on addiction speaks so much to people in the SP community.

My ex's mother was an alcoholic. A bunch of years ago, when he and I were still together, one New Year's Eve he wanted to leave the house to buy alcohol. I said I wasn't interested in any. He kept on for a while and finally said, "What if I NEED it?" I replied, "All the more reason not to get it!" He looked surprised, and then sat down and didn't go to get any! Phew!
