It's Sat. morning and for us here on the west coast it is cold. About minus 5C last I looked.
The neighbourhood is dead quiet...people here are not used to this.

When I got up this morning I looked out at my bird feeder and it was empty.
About a half dozen little ones hopping around looking for seeds.
I felt so bad...I immediately put on my boots and jacket and went out and filled it up.
Within 10 minutes there were at least 15 little darlin's hoppin' and eatin' and chirpin'.... emoticon

I ate my breakfast, sat down to watch the news and plan my day. My nose started to run. A few minutes later, a couple sneezes and then I felt a funny
feeling in my chest. (my weakspot)

So I put on my biggest warm sweater, went and got a clove of my homegrown
Red Russian garlic, peeled it and popped it into my mouth.
I have been chewing on it for about 30 min. and I am already starting to notice a difference. Garlic has been and always will be for me a true gift.
It has never failed me yet.....and it tastes soooooo good! emoticon

Have a wonderful day everyone...and take a moment to look up and say thank you to the one who gave it to us.

Hmm, I like a bit of garlic in some of my cooking but raw? Never tried it Lyn, so I really can't say anything. But hey, if it works for you and you like it . . . why not?
My son grows different kinds of garlic and puts it in everything, he loves it!

I am thanking Him for letting me wake up today and for giving me such a wonderful day!

Sweet dreams girlfriend!

My husband LOVES garlic. I don't believe I could chew a clove...I can barely swallow one as if it were a pill ...not even for medicinal purposes. I KNOW it works...but I am not so fond of it as you...nor is it fond of me, either. I am VERY glad that you are feeling better.

I am absolutely convinced that the birds come and tell me when my feeders are empty: they know I'll "hop right to it". And the chickadees in particular are always most appreciative!

I love garlic too. I sometimes hear people excusing their garlic breath...its not a problem for me. Its a pleasant smell.
Here is a cute garlic story. My sisters friend used garlic with absolutely everything, so much so that she permanently smelled of garlic. When my sister moved towns, she left her friend behind. One day while shopping, my sisters then 5 year old suddenly said "I smell auntie Maureen's perfume mommy." Well auntie Maureen lived several hours away, so she asked Devon to find the perfume and it was the garlic in the fruit and veg section.

I love garlic, too, and it is SO incredibly good for you. I haven't gotten to the point where I can eat it 'straight' however. I just use a lot in cooking and take capsules when I'm not feeling well. Hope you continue to feel better. emoticon
