Great start to a Saturday morning!

Saturday, January 12, 2013

So far this has been a positively wonderous day. I woke up early, which means I didn't have to force myself out of bed. Then dh woke up early and had breakfast with me. After breakfast I headed out to the park to meet The Buddy. We had a lovely walk, other than nearly getting run over by people in training for a marathon. The weather is unbelievably nice, especially for January. Warm and slightly sunny, but not enough to blind me. I actually walked without a jacket. In Columbus! In January! I could definitely get used to this kind of weather.

After our walk we headed to an indoor farmer's market. This was exceptionally cool because I didn't even know there was an indoor farmer's market in our part of town. The Buddy mentioned it a couple days ago and I asked if I could tag along. There was so much stuff there that I really wanted to eat. You could have had a full meal just walking around trying all the samples. Which was tempting, let me tell you. Especially the cupcakes. They had tiny cupcakes as samples and I managed to not eat one. Amazing!

In the end I still walked out a lot poorer than when I came in. I bought Amaretto Peach preserves {AMAZING!}, cheddar cheese curds {which I had never had til today}, hot sauce for dh, spinach, green beans and a bag of Salted Carmel coffee. Which I just made, and it was delicious.

So yeah, this day has definitely gotten off on the right foot. The only downside to the day is that dh has to work until 7. On a Saturday. I hate his bosses.

But we're having a little date night tonight. We have a dollar movie theater in our apartment complex, and they're showing Sinister. Normally I don't like going to movies in theaters because I get too antsy to sit there, but I LOVE horror movies and this one looks really creepy. Dh loves to go to movies, so I thought it would be nice to go to one, just the two of us. Hopefully it will be good enough to keep me in my seat.

So... the past couple days. They weren't great. I definitely ate far more than I should have. But I kept in mind all the things you wonderful people said, and I decided to focus on getting back on track rather than dwelling on my mistakes. No more starting over, just had a setback. So far, so good. Granted it's only 11:15, but I have a solid plan laid out for the day, so I'm completely confident I will have a victorious day.

Okay, enough rambling. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

I"m so glad you're having such a great day! Sometimes you wake up and the switch has just flipped.. no knowing why or how.

Cheese curds are one of the signs that God exists, loves us, and wants us to be happy. I agree with ADARKARA - there's something wonderful about food that squeeks when you eat it. (Now that I re-read that sentence, it seems a little creepy.)

Good luck with the rest of the day and CONGRATS on resisting cupcakes AND getting in a walk!

Ah, cheese curds. I haven't even been gone from Wisconsin a month, and I miss 'em already.

Very much enjoying the t-shirt weather in January. Scared to look at the weather report for the next week, because I almost expect negative temps by Wednesday.

Cheese curds are one of the most amazing foods ever. Any time we go through Wisconsin for ANYTHING we stop at a cheese shop and get some fresh ones. Mmmmmm!

That is so awesome that you didn't eat that cupcake...I know it had to be staring at you with a big sign that said 'EAT ME' lol

    Enjoy the movie tonight!!!! :-)

OMG cheese curds are AMAZING!!!! In Ontario and Quebec they put them over hot french fries with brown gravy and call it a poutine. It's soooo bad for you but soooo delicious. I like them on their own too, because they squeak when you chew them!
