Sadie is home

Saturday, January 12, 2013

From what I can put together, the whole thing yesterday was a big misunderstanding. Jeremy and his Uncle work at Papa's Dodge selling cars. Gary worked yesterday because they were doing dealer swaps with other dealerships Jeremy didn't know that he would have to go out on the road because one of the mechanics had a family emergency and had to leave work and brought Sadie to work. He didn't want to take her on the run because he couldn't stop for potty walks so he left her with his Uncle Ron.

A neighbor of Uncle Ron's was at the dealership having his car detailed and had his little boy with him. Of course the child is drawn to Sadie, who wouldn't be, and is playing with Sadie. It is time to leave and go have lunch and the little boy starts to cry because he wants to play with Sadie. Uncle Ron has a great idea, let's get rid of the dog and the crying kid at the same time. He tells the guy he can take Sadie for the afternoon, just have her back by 5. Jeremy shouldn't be back before then, they are going to Boston. Problem solved, he doesn't have to take this dog out for potty walks and his friend's kid is happy. Little did he know that Gary got his friend Elliot to go with him to keep him company to Boston when Elliot says I can drive the car and let Jeremy go back to the dealership. Jeremy is all for it, he hates being on the road. So Jeremy drives in as this guy is pulling out with Sadie and Uncle Ron has gone out to lunch and on a couple appointments. The police are called, the guys address is gotten off the service ticket for the car and they are on the hunt. Not one salesman in the place knows that Ron told the guy he could take Sadie or at least that's what they say. Ron doesn't say anything different.

The police come here and ask me questions, I guess I could have had the guy steal the pup. Why would I though? I can go and take her myself if I wanted to. Not to keep, but to have. In fact she will be here from 9-1 Jeremy is working a half day. The police pulled the guy over about 4:30 on his way back to the dealership to return Sadie. I am so happy he didn't have anyone in the car with him. Can you imagine how traumatic that would have been for the child. He was ordered out of the car at gunpoint, or so I was told, and put in handcuffs. He told the cops his story was put in the police car with Sadie, and brought to Papa;s Dodge. The police were called and told it was a misunderstanding why patrol was not notified is well, that's New Britain police for you. They are bullies.

I hope Papa never hears of this because he will really put his foot down and say "Dogs don't belong at the dealership" Sadie is there only when Kenny isn't. He is in FL right now. His brother knows and said for everyone to keep it from Kenny.

If Sadie was dognapped the guy would have been charged with grand theft because that is what Gary paid for that dog. When I learned that my mouth hit the floor. She is a pure bred and a rare color for a shiza. I thought he paid $600 and I thought he was nuts for that. She is worth every single penny though. I want to thank everyone for your support when Sadie was taken. I can't believe that people would actually steal a dog but I guess it does happen, just as abuse does. Animals will love you unconditionally, they will never ask for sex, to borrow $10 or to use the car. They greet you at the door all excited to see you, because you are you and they missed you. When you are sick, they will stay by your side. I am not fortunate enough where I can have an animal if you are love it and take care of it please.

I am so happy this story had a happy ending and Sadie is back where she belongs. What an amazing misunderstanding! I love my sweet girl, Keiko, so much and it would destroy me if someone were to take her. But since she's a 78 lb. Akita, I wish them luck trying!

Thank God Sadie wasn't stolen! I know what you mean. Dogs give you unconditional love and they deserve the same in return. I love my rescue doggie with all my heart. She is a true rescue-style dog. My family would be lost without her - and she without us.

I'm so glad Sadie is home. Like you, we can't have pets where we live and I miss having the furry members of family around. Almost every house we clean has animals and I always take time with each of them for some petting, hugging and playing, so that helps.

Have a fabulous weekend!

So glad Sadie is home safe and sound! Too bad Ron didn't let anyone else know what was going on. But at least Sadie is safe and probably enjoyed her afternoon.

Wow....what a mess. I'm glad it worked out! It always pays to tell a second person when making spur of the moment arrangements like that though.
I've always had cats. Having a dog requires you to stick to a better schedule for walks, etc. and cats don't need to be walked. You're right though. They love you unconditionally, know when you aren't feeling well, and are there for you. My cat even greets me at the door when I come home in the evening. I would be lonely without her.
