The New Me Won!

Saturday, January 12, 2013

I forgot I something very important that happened yesterday at my Christmas party.
2 things
1. I had taken a roll that I thought looked the healthiest. However- it really did not taste good at all. SO.... I didn't eat it. I put on my finished salad plate. Instead my Aunt gave me half of her wheat roll.

2. The other thing that was a very big victory for me was the desserts. emoticon emoticon a small slices of a variety of desserts were brought to the table on two plates. while I did have 2.5 desserts that is all I had> Now that is not the victory. The victory was in not taking any home. Which I could have done very easily. On top of the easy- it could have been done without anyone knowing. - an even bigger victory. outside of our reception room was a nice large lobby where they had a coffee station set up. coffee- whip topping, chocolate and kinds of stuff to add. ( I love REAL whip cream- and I didn't have any of that either) also on the table was several other desert plates and cookies. with napkins. I could have wrapped up quite a few and put them in my purse without anyone I knew seeing me. I DIDN'T TAKE ONE.
The old me would have probably taken 4 or 5 of them home with me. And on top of that 3 of them would have been eaten in the car before I got home.

I feel proud of myself and not deprived one little bit. emoticon
(that is my gold star for resisting major overload)

WOOT! WOOT! Congrats! I think that is the hardest thing to do - push yourself away from enjoying the food too much. I find that just taking a bite of that "sinful" food helps to get the urge to overeat away. You are awesome!

Wow great job, I know what you mean about the whipping cream. It's hard to resist.
