Why is this so hard?

Saturday, January 12, 2013

I did so well for the first week and a half--sticking to setting and accomplishing one goal a day. Then, the first day I didn't accomplish my goal made it easier to give in the next day. I am being more conscious of the food I put in my mouth and I have lost about 3 pounds so far...but, I just have so much trouble fitting in the exercise. I try walking at work but I rarely get breaks and the long, unpredictable hours are just so prohibitive. If it weren't for having to get up to go to the bathroom, I might not even get out of my chair some days (at work). I guess I will have to employ that little trick to use the restroom farthest away from my office...too bad I can only find time to use the bathroom maybe once a shift...Okay, I have to refocus my energy and make it happen! There's got to be a way.

Thanks, everyone. I just needed a gentle reminder. My health is worth it, and I KNOW I feel better and less stressed when I do exercise. Even 10-15 minutes is beneficial. I can do this.

SP has videos of exercises that you can do from your desk. Maybe that can help meet your fitness goals. If you truely can't exercise when you work, then look for a way to get some in before of after work or on the days you don't work. Either way, don't let not excercising lead to guilt. This program is 80% food control. You can loose weight without exercising. But if you switched to a walk after work, you could think of it as a wind down quiet time before you head home. Or, I joined a dance class that I could do for 1 hr instead of my "dinner" hour that I attended 3 times a week and my husband handles the dinner at home with the kids. I felt so much less tension after that dancing! Put yourself first, be creative, and don't hold off on doing something because it might make you uncomfortable (tired, sweaty, or outside work schedule). Good luck! You'll figure it out.
