Running With A Camera

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Just get moving. You don't have to be a superstar.

Here's a P.O.V. clip of the warm-up mile of my 10K run on Thursday. I was trying to see if I could use my point-and-shoot digital camera like a Hero-Cam by carrying it in the pouch of my running belt. Voice starts at about 2:20 min. There's no sound after minute 5 so no point in watching beyond that.

10:00 A.M. is 10K #2 in the January Freeze series, but it looks like it will be in the 40 - 45 deg. F range. Shorts and T-shirt weather.

Interesting terrain. A week ago, my roads looked similar, but I didn't have as long a walk to get to a cleared shoulder to run on. Now, most of the snow has melted from the roads here in a warm spell; but it's likely there will be more before winter is done with us.

I live in the country all year round. Four seasons. I am a Canadian.I am 71 years old . You look almost like your in my open area with the lake to the right as I look l but then you were on highway here at last. My walk as yours look is then not as nice pave road. I would start out like you with all the snow up my lane then onto the area like yours.

I have same camera can you put up in your blog page what your pouch looks like with your camera in it. Hippy Pouch? You have it on your chest.
Oh it did fall.See if you can get it to work. I hope you did not break it. I see your still walking but your camera must of slid. Anyhow. Good for you for your jog. I see your feet near the end of tape. Now your tape has run out.

When I do video mine seems to be too big the pictures. I wonder what size your pictures are set at in your camera. So where do you save yours to your computer to Video I guess? I would love to video.

    Then on Sparks blog?

I am so not knowing all this.

I hear you perfect fast walking and when you talk.. I have Moose in my area for walking so I am scared of the moose as they like to have any territory even the road. They will charge after you.

Not anyone in my area will walk . So Till Spring. I am doing inside but after my ice has melted. I may go out side.

    Gosh your doing good.

KRISZTA11 may be right a head band on head. I seen a gal name
    Shelli at MOSTMOM1's Sparkpage
She had a video on her head when she did her video wit the Bubbles. In her back yard. Have a look.

This vlog is very inspirational! I live in an area that never snows and I sometimes have to kick myself in the butt to walk in our cold weather of 55 degrees. I will think about your dedication to walk when I am playing excuses in my head.

Congratulations on all your health goals!

    A beautiful place to run...
The camera worked very well, only the picture is moving up and down as it follows your steps.
Maybe placing it on your head (like a headlamp) would give you a more stable picture.
The position of the head is often surprisingly stable during running.
