Flabbergasted and Flummoxed.....

Friday, January 11, 2013

I've had an interesting day! (By interesting, read "insane" - Oh god o god we're all gonna die! LOL )
Expect this blog to be a bit random; I'm trying to wrap my brain around what happened.

I finally finished up a project for a client, and was waiting feedback. My feedback, was to get verbally bitch-slapped, called a liar & a cheat & a scam. Um....What?! Not only am I none of those things, 90% of the "problems" she commented on were on things that she provided me to work with. I'm just sitting here stunned. I've had issues with clients before, of course. It's not possible to work for another person and NOT have the occasional issue crop up, but OMG. I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around that conversation. Supposedly she's supposed to pay me still, but we'll see. I have no idea at this point. Hopefully she will, cause it was a lot of money, and I have no idea how to handle any of this if she doesn't. Yes, I do have a contract, but I don't know what to do if she flakes.

I'm torn between laughing hysterically, crying, and pigging out. LOL. Instead I'm just sitting here feeling a bit stunned and attempting to wrap my head around things. It's not working! O.o I just don't know what to do. I'm not sure I CAN do anything.

anyways, I'm gonna wrap this up and get ready to meet hubby for dinner. It's date night! Yea for that at least!!

Hope your date was enjoyable...rather, I'm sure it was.

Maybe when your client has time to think she will realize she gave you the things to work with, and the result was not your fault. Either that or someone came down on her and she was taking her anger/frustration out on you!

Good luck with the whole thing!

I'm really sorry you had such an awful experience. There isn't a reason on earth to justify treating someone like that. The key thing is to recognise that this is someone elses stuff. Although they have chosen to plonk their distress on you, you can chose not to take it on AND if you don't buy into their distress then you don't need eat to resolve issues that really aren't yours.

On our journey, I think we will meet many emotional challenges and perhaps have to deal with our own stuff - that's enough of a task in itself without taking on the distress of others.

Good for you blogging about it! Treat the blog as a release from this persons emotional distress!

Sure hope that date night is great! You deserve it.

So sorry for your bizarre client. Perhaps you have a mentor or someone you could ask who may have been through something similar. I did run a small business for a year and a half, but not one of my clients complained once, so I haven't a clue what to do. Best wishes for a good resolution.

I do know, though, that if hunger isn't the issue, eating isn't the solution. Don't think eating and especially overeating would help in this situation. I also know that when things are stressful it is much harder to resist temptation. Best wishes for keeping your healthy lifestyle in tact. Don't give this wacko the power to derail your best health efforts!!! You deserve to live healthy.

Well, we all know pigging out will just make you feel bad about pigging out, so maybe that's not the best option. Take some deep breaths. Weep on your honey's shoulder a bit. That good night's sleep will help... and then rationally think it through in the morning. emoticon

Wow! That's crazy!!! Get a good night's sleep. Your brain can work out all sorts of stuff while you're sleeping. Praying all goes well. emoticon
