FitBit is making me go to the Gym.

Friday, January 11, 2013

Well it's 3 pm and looking at my Fitbit I have taken only 1208 steps today. yikes! I have a desk job but I also do take breaks and walk around so I thought. Wow such an eye opener since I'm supposed to be getting 10,000 per day! I am going defiantly going to the Gym after work.. But honestly I had no idea it was this bad!

Yes, it seems like 10,000 steps a days may be tough to reach everyday for me everyday. Especially during work week days when I work and sitting all day long. I did an hour and half of cardio to reach the 10,000 goal on Friday, but interestingly enough on the weekends I seem to surpass that easily.

I love the fitbit so far! Great motivator.

I will be getting my fit bit soon. I am a nail tech so I am sure it will have similar news for me.

Keep your chin up! Try standing while you are on the phone and stepping in place if it is possible. I walk in place while my clients wash their hands lol

I've had my Fitbit for a couple of months, and it hasn't been easy. I keep plugging along. On the fitness page, I set my goal for 6500. I'm ready to move it up a bit, but I'm still not ready to do 10,000 steps a day. Some mornings I get on the treadmill early; some days I don't get on the treadmill until time for the evening news.

My goal right now is to have my weekly average increase each week. I do want to reach 10,000, but I want to reach that goal at a rate that will keep me doing it long-term.

Make your goal realistic. It's nearly 4:30 PM; my Fitbit is sitting at almost 2600. I'm headed to the treadmill right now.

I average between 8 and 11 thousand a day and some days get to 14 those are days when I am taking my long walks.
The Fitbit does make you feel like getting up and moving more, good for you going to the gym.

10,000 is a LOT of steps. I took a 45 minute walk and didn't get even close.
