I like group fitness

I really like how I came off of vacation & didn't suddenly jump back to the same high level of adhering to a strict eating & exercise regime. Instead, I started tracking my foods, as honestly as possible, and scheduled gym time. And yesterday, I stayed within my calorie range and went to turbokick for an hour. It's really great! I feel satisfied, not starving. I feel energetic. And I weighed in this morning at 177.4. All I got to do is stick to the plan, and by next weekend I'll be seeing some progress.

My Stats for the Biggest Loser New Year- New You Winter Challenge:
Starting Weight: 177.6
Week 1: 175.2 (-2.4)
Week 2: 179.4 (+4.2)
Week 3: 178.4 (-1)
Week 4: 178.6 (+.2)

I like group fitness. It seems to go faster than working out alone. And it pushes me a little harder. Unlike a DVD, having someone waiting for me is really motivating.

The spring semester group fitness schedule is up! I have a choice of classes at 4, followed by abs. I also love Zumba, but the classes are so crowded sometime. Is pilates/yoga enough of a workout?
4:00-4:50pm Switching Gears (spin bike with intervals of resistance training)
4:00-4:50pm Pilates/Yoga
5:00-5:30pm 30 minute Abs

4:00-4:50pm Kickboxing Fit Challenge
4:00-4:50pm TRX (Intermediate)
5:00-5:30pm 30 Minute Abs
5:00-5:50pm Zumba

4:00-4:50pm Switching Gears
4:00-4:50pm Pilates/Yoga
5:00-5:30pm 30 minute Abs

    Whether pilates/yoga will be enough of a workout will entirely depend on the instructor and the target audience of the class (in other words how old and fit they are).

I wouldn't expect it to be as much of a "Cardio" workout and calorie burn, so tend to consider pilates more strength training. It might be difficult to do back-to-back Pilates and abs, since if done properly, the pilates will also work your core. But I enourage you to try it.

    I too am a solo with the exercise, but those who love the group fitness really do enjoy it! You're doing awesome!!!

    I have to say that I prefer to work out alone. I've never had a gym membership until this week. Hubby got a family membership from the Y. . . . . . I haven't gone yet!!!

    I do like to work out in a group sometimes but then there are days it's just nice to put in a DVD and workout at home...but which ever way works for you that's what you need to stick to.

    Interesting - I prefer working out alone; but most classes require you to move your ankle
