After about 3 months on SP, consistently losing 1 to 2 pounds a week, I hit a speed bump. Slowed me right down. Well, it actually brought me to a screeching halt.
For 3 weeks, the scale continued to bounce all around the same weight number. I kept asking myself 'nothing has changed in my program, so why have I stopped losing?'
Among the gems of advice offered by successful SparkFriends was to 'change it up' and 'keep your body guessing' and 'eat at the high end of the caloric range.'
So, I did. I began to incorporate those changes.
I began eating more calories. .. .. and yes, that really messed with my head .... eat more and lose?
At the same time, I reviewed the 'over time' nutritional reports for the past 3 months. I was amazed to see the drastic ups and downs so graphically displayed.
A couple more things I changed: I began increasing my fiber intake as the reports revealed that my fiber intake was consistently low.
And I changed up my fitness routine. Not necessarily working out more, just differently. (Actually for 5 days of this week, I've been heavy cleaning, moving furniture, and painting several hours a day!)
It wasn't until just this morning I found that I have dropped below my lowest-to-date weight. Just a half a pound. It's not much, but at least it's moving again.. . . the right direction.
So, I'll be curious what I'll find when I weigh in next week.
My energy and motivation levels have been high, stress level low.
I'm staying with the plan. Life is good.
