"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days."
Hello guys and gals.
I had a great day yesterday. I signed up for a YMCA membership, and got all our bills paid for these two weeks. I had a YMCA membership about two years ago and really enjoyed playing racquetball. I got in some good cardio and a couple racquetball games in. I am showing Nicholas how to play racquetball, and I think he likes it. He even did some cardio with me, but he was more interested in lifting weights. I am surprised he wanted to considering he had just got done lifting in athletics about and hour before.
I had a big breakfast today. I didn't intend to eat a big breakfast, but I didn't read the oatmeal instructions correctly. I had 1.5 cups of oats instead of my intended 2/3 cup. What is bad, I have to work tonight so I am really going to have to spread out my meals. Oh well this is a learning process and I will figure it out.
Well I guess its time to talk about my scripture now, lol. I was scrolling through my bible I have on my computer and happened to stop on the book of Joel. I picked chapter 2 and started reading. This scripture brought to my mind the many times I have discussed with people about women and teaching in church. Here is a little background about me first off: When I was a kid, I was raised in The Church of Christ. In that church they believe that women are to remain silent. I tried a non denominational church when I was a bit older and I had some issues with women that led worship and talked to the congregation. I am glad that the Holy Spirit led me to this passage today. These verses are God talking to Joel after Joel had a vision of the day of the Lord. Joel had instructed Israel to repent to the Lord and fast. When Israel did this the Lord changed his plans on Israel, and blessed them. Now God is talking about the Day of the Lord and what happens leading into it. I believe that Holy Spirit is poured out on us because of this. We are heading for the Day of the Lord, and I believe in this time we will see the Holy Spirit moving more in people, not just in men but in women too. I have been attending The First Assembly of God here in Dumas for over a year now, and my views have changed. I know some women that know God's word better than most men. Who am I to tell Gods anointed to sit down and be quiet. One thing we need to remember, is to check the word that is given and make sure it goes with what the bible says, and also if it doesn't matter to my salvation then why make a big deal about it.
Lord I thank you for this day and time to be in your presence and to be able to write about you. Lord please give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and heart to love those that you send to minster to me. Lord I pray that you not let me be critical about the things that do not matter to my salvation. I thank you once again for your presence. In Jesus' precious name, Amen!
