I started a new circuit training routine last night and really enjoyed it. I'm using the workout routines in the Abs Diet for Women. I love, love, love all these new muscles I'm starting to see! And the scale went down again today. I've lost 3.6 pounds in 4 weeks, which is slow, yes, but that's actually pretty good with the hypothyroidism, building more muscle, and making it through Christmas and New Year's. I'll take that as a WIN!
The circuit consists of moving through different strength exercises relatively quickly without a rest, then repeating the circuit. I started with 5 minute warmup on the treadmill, did 10 sets of each, then repeated the full circuit:
Lat pull down
Then ended with 10 minutes brisk walking on the treadmill.
I'm going to try this routine for a few weeks and see how I feel.
Mon - cardio-elliptical or a DVD
Tue - cardio
Wed - abs and cardio
Thu - above circuit
Fri - OFF
Sat - cardio
Sun - abs and above circuit
The abs workout is 5 different exercises that target different parts of the abs plus the lower back.
