Push That Tush - Rewiring my mind

Friday, January 11, 2013

This year my focus needs to be EXERCISE
I need to learn to see EXERCISE as an
enjoyable daily routine vs something I've got to do.

I know I can talk myself into things (or I can talk myself out of things)
and it's all about ATTITUDE.
but everything I read about the Body/Mind connection
and learning new tasks, says that the more you repeat an action and
associate the task with positive experiences and positive rewards
the stronger that Brain connection becomes.

That's where choices come in. I love ZUMBA, and anything with Dance.
I like the SparkPeople 28 Day Bootcamp with Coach Nicole
(I use this DVD to burn the calories faster)
and
I like the SparkPeople Total Body Sculpting with Coach Nicole DVD
(I use this DVD to strength train with my 5 Lb dumbbells)
and I like walking (in fall and spring).

I'm working on Rewiring my BRAIN and my ATTITUDE.

I'm looking forward to the day I experience that rush of endorphins
I've heard people talk about when they are really into their workout

Sorry... I'm trying to keep an open mind
but there are some things that just ain't gonna happen.

I'll settle for a lot more energy, a little less jiggle,
and looking considerably better in my clothes.

Have a great weekend

I can only handle exercise if I enjoy it. I like walking, swimming, dancing, yoga, and qigong. My doctor says they are enough, thank goodness.

It sounds like you like a very well-rounded choice of exercises. And you are so right.......if we make them a part of our every day existence, they will become a habit that we just do without even thinking of it. I am working on this; very hard. They haven't become a habit yet, but I'm not giving up. emoticon

Exercise is great - find something you enjoy doing and then keep doing it. Zumba is great as is Belly Dance - find something - you can do it!

You always find such great pictures and slogans, and it always makes me smile and/or makes me think. I am on a very long, very slow journey, but I figure that doesn't really matter as long as I keep on the journey. Blessings!

Everything starts with your mind. You can't successfully sell a product you don't believe in and you won't stay with an activity you don't see as pleasurable and good for you.

Find activiities you like and start with those. You can do it. :)

Sheryld: That end picture had me laughing. I feel the pleasure of exercise after it is done..I usually feel happier and more energetic. I do not feel that way while exercising.
You are smart to choose exercise that you enjoy! I love that quote, " Motivation is what gets you started..but habit is what keeps you going.

Good luck on your year of exercise! emoticon

I do not mind exercising, I am just getting bored with it. I need a new routine or something different. I think the Spark People DVD's with Nicole are great but I do not look forward to doing them. Thanks for the pep talk, it was very helpful.

Some of my co-workers have gotten interested in Zumba, so we are going to try to do it together after work at least once a week, using the dvds. Hopefully, it will be fun.

I've been enjoying focusing on getting in 10,000 steps a day regardless of additional exercise. Of course, I'll move on to running at some point, but those 10k steps are a good way to be active without feeling like you have to go to the gym, etc. good luck!

When you perfect that rewiring make sure to blog about it, because I'm right there with you! I exercise because i need to for my health! I get no endorphin rush or pleasure out of it . When walking in nice weather, it is enjoyable just to see the beautiful day, but that could be done from my porch or backyard with no energy expended! I'm just glad it has turned to habit so that I do it! Good luck on your journey!

Hi Shery, thanks for your another great blog. I think I am addicted to endorphin rush.
It is great idea of focusing our mind to bit extra for our daily exercise.

You've said you like the coach Nicole's Total body sculpting Dvd. I am thinking about getting It. I already have 28 day boot camp DVd. and today I received Cardio Blast with coach Nicole's Dvd from Spark people in the mail. ( I won this DVD by spinning spark wheals.) lucky me right? So now, I just missing this Total body sculpting Dvd. If I have it, this will make a set and I can work out alternatively and feels that is the way to go to shorten up to my fitness goal. (^_^) thanks for your recommendation !!

Have a safe and productive wonderful weekend !!
