The next 12 week challenge is about to begin and I'm sitting waiting with everything ready. Anticipation is a great motivator. You can apply it to most areas of life! It is the foundation upon which things are built.
Let's look at a few examples. Remember when you were in grade school and you went to the local big box store with your supply list? Remember how much fun it was to buy those new pencils, binders, notebooks, folders, erasers, etc? It was often a time of new shoes, clothes, haircuts, and one year a desk for my own room! When I got to high school it was receiving my schedule in the mail. When I went to college it was a whole new level of excitement moving into a dorm. The anticipation fueled PREPARATION!
How about vacation? You plan for weeks. You make reservations, look up restaurants in the area online, plan tourist stops and buy tickets to attractions at a discount before leaving home. You pack your bags carefully and schedule boarding for the pets and hold your mail and paper. All of that preparation makes for a better vacation!
We just came out of the holiday season. That's another time of preparation. If you made handmade gifts you had to start months in advance. You compiled lists for Christmas cards, gift exchanges and planned party menus. You may have been in charge of a holiday charity event like Toys for Tots or the Angel Tree. Preparation made the actual EVENT a success.
So here I am on the brink of another challenge (and you can apply this to your OWN challenge/team/plan) and the anticipation has caused me to prepare well.
I have healthy foods in my pantry and fridge.
I have new scales (check your batteries if you have not recently).
I have a gym membership and home EQ.
I have DVD's and Wii games for fitness.
I've read articles and blogs online to help me fine tune my personal program.
I've ANTICIPATED the event which caused me to PREPARE and build that foundation from which I will launch my journey with success.
Carly Simon sang it well... Anticipation is making me wait... but not for long!
