DREADING OUR WORK
If we really thought about it, there are so many reasons we dread work. One reason we don’t enjoy our work is that we don’t feel appreciated either by our family, our customers or by our bosses. We feel as if we are doing things and no one really cares. However, God cares. He tells us not to dread our work, but to work willing at whatever we do. He tells us to work as though we are working for Him and not man. When we decide to work for God, the attitude we have about work will change and He will give us joy. He will give us ideas of how we can use our work to help others and to give Him the glory.
Colossian 3:23 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, thank You for the reminder that we are to work willingly for You. Thank You for the opportunities and abilities we have to work. Help us to know what work You want us to do that will be pleasing to You. Show us how to have the right attitude to do our work and how we can help others in all we do as we share with them Your word and give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
