Today I am feeling the effects of going out to eat at the Chinese buffet. We found a new resturant that we had never been to before and it was sooooo good. The food was tasty and so many good things there but hidden in them was so much salt!! I don't know why Chinese cooking has to contain so much salt. Anyway after dinner and 2 huge bottles of water, you can just imagine what todays gain was!

I know a lot is water weight so I'm not panicking. Yesterdays dinner was after 90 mins of swimming and 20 mins of step ups. Funny how I think I earned the dinner because I worked out so hard. As an afterthought, how much better I would have been with a simple dinner and making progress instead of enjoying just the moment. Ahhhh but what a moment! It's this constant battle that's killing me. So today, I want to be Scarlott Ohara and say only that I'll think about it tomorrow......

I love the fried rice and the stir fried vegtables. I do love to order from our local great little hole in the wall chinese restaurant. But I too have portion control issues when it is right in front of me. I have improved though and that is my main goal. To get better and better, not to do it all at once. Would you have indulged in the stuff a year ago, yes, but did you use better control this time, I bet you did. Would you have done that great work out before you indulged? Every little improvement is an improvement, so cut yourself the slack and just keep growing. It has to be a doable life style or you will eventually give it up. Indulge just focus on getting better at the portion control. We will beat this thing! Susan

    I love Chinese food too. Especially when a waitress comes to the table to bring the food versus all the buffet-style Chinese places we have in our community. I am not crazy about buffet style!

    To be successful and make this journey a real life changer is to learn how to move past hurdles, dust yourself off, and start a new day without the trials of yesterday. If we spend to much time trying to diet and think we should deny ourselves things we enjoy we are almost guaranteed to fail.

The water weight will shed. You'll hit the pool again and the Chinese food will be long gone. Keep at it sounds like you're doing just fine.
