sparking positivity in wierd ways.

Friday, January 11, 2013

A few weeks ago I had an unpleasant encounter with a coworker (ok, she is my constant nemisis). It was before I had actually embraced or even aknowleged my current journey with my fellow sparksters. So, I did my normal rant in my car on the drive home - it normally diffuses my anger and I can comeback with such witty comments that always come to me after the fact. emoticon
This time it would not diffuse. Not even the car rant helped. So, I did some deep breathing and came up with lyrics for a new song. I didn't know it at the time but I was actually turning a negative into a positive by using my creativity as therapy. I won't sing you the song (because I want to keep you as friends - lol) but I can share some of the lyrics.
"You are blind to all the good deeds done,
focused on the faults of everyone,
Did you know that I was once like you?
And every day was just so hard to get thru."
And you're bringin' me down
Bringin' me down, bringin' me down"

There is a second verse but you get the feeling. I know the song itself is kind of negative and you would think it would be counterproductive but it really makes me laugh - I'm not crazy - really! It just makes me think of how creative I can be with even the most negative of inspirations and turn them into a positive outcome. Hey, this might turn into a number one hit - Godsmack or Disturbed will sing it and I will get royalties! SCORE!
Anyway, just felt like sharing a little of myself and my personality (I have a bunch of it).
Feel free to comment and add your own verse! Maybe we could create an entire song and have MostMom1 sing it in a video..... emoticon

A winner takes a bad situation and turns it around, refusing to let it bring her down. You did exactly that in turning the negativity into a song, which transformed it into a lighthearted moment. Bravo!

That's wonderful! Whenever I'm faced with a situation like that, I write a story or a poem about it and it really helps. Good for you for turning a negative experience into creativity and to something positive :)
