it is 10 days into the new year. i started this year off strange since i could barely eat the first 2 days of the new year from partying, which sort of kick started my effort to eat less. then i got sick. then i decided to go to the gym as if i wasn't sick. then i used the machines rooms for the very first time and now i can add about 20 min worth of the abs, lower back, thighs, and chest press machines to my daily workout, expanding my gym routine for the past year and a half to a different space i am actually very happy with. and I also decided that chilling down in the hot tub and/or steam room would be a good way to end my gym session. I really hate the dudes who hang out in the pool room who talk to people. but other than that, i'm really happy i made it to the gym 4 times this week, expanded my workout, expanded my use my the gym. eating is still very hard for me, but so far is okay. the breakfast smoothie certainly helps, but this is going to be tougher than working out. this morning, i woke up lighter than i've been in a few months, which made me feel good. its a long ways to go.

    I'm hoping to become a semi-permanent resident in our local gym's sauna, too - too bad I can't bring a book with me and avoid the people who want to chitchat, lol...
