I'm a little late writing this down, but I did reflect on my fitness and nutrition goals before the new year.
It was around Thanksgiving that I decided to get a head start on my goals. I read some articles and searched for a motivational book to jumpstart. I decided to buy a book from Women's Health Magazine called "Look Better Naked". Yea, it sounds funny but honestly we're all on this site because we want to achieve that right? Anyway, the book is a typical fitness/diet book with a catchy title. I decided if I wanted to complete my triathlon in 2013 I would need to get in shape by Feb in order to add the swimming, running, and biking to my routine. The book would be a great way to give me the mindset.
I ended up not following the book. It wasn't bad. I just decided to take pieces from the book to shape my workout/nutrition plan. I really enjoyed all the meal ideas. I used most of the lunch and breakfast ideas. It is difficult for me to follow dinner plans because my boyfriend isn't on the diet. The fitness plans were a bit too easy for me but I may mix those in between my cardio days.
Anyway, it's already been 2 months since I thought about getting back to triathlon training. My plan for 2013 is as follows.
1. Pick up healthy habits by mid February. This includes eating breakfast, healthy lunches, cooking dinner, increasing cardio sessions from 30 to 45 minutes, creating a basic weight training routine, and drinking more water.
2. Train for triathlon March through August. I can't wait!!!
3. Run a 10k. The farthest I ever wanted to do was 5k because I don't like running. However, 10k will help get my endurance for my triathlon.
4. Jump back into yoga.
5. Log on SP!!! I actually lost weight the 3 months I logged my food. I need to get back on it.
