My goal is to lose weight as fast and safe as possible. I have always been over weight and have had Type 2 diabetes for 18 years. This past year and the beginning of this one has been really hard. I lost my husband of 12 years in March, he was only 35 years old and he was my rock. Because I did not eat well during his illness, I got Diverticulitis, which made me cut out all red meat from my diet. Then I go for a trip and come back with a blood clot. I just found out today that my sugars are high and have effected the functions of my kidneys causing kidney damage. I also have high blood pressure, fatty liver, and high cholesterol. I need to lose weight or slowly die.

I have spent the evening alone crying and shouting at god as to why this is happening. Now I am going to pick myself up and start working on losing this weight! I had started and lost 13 pounds. I need to lose more without doing exercise as this is not allowed when you have a blood clot. Wish me LUCK! I will do IT!

One step at a time, sweetie - you didn't get here overnight, and it won't be undone overnight, but you can improve and regain health.

First, make a plan... then on to step two.

p.s. It is possible to recover healthy kidney function, even as a Type 2 diabetic. I know - I've done it, and I think I'm a good bit older than you are, so it's definitely possible! emoticon

Wow, it sounds like you've really had it rough the past year. I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope things get better for you soon. Good luck, you *can* do it, and you will do it!
