Less Laundry- a forgotten NSB (Non-Scale-Bonus)

Thursday, January 10, 2013

One of the benefits about losing weight or inches is that there is less laundry to be done.

This happens various ways.
Items get to big so you can donate them. they are replaced by similar items but... there is less material in the new ones. Less Laundry means- less water waste & less soap waste. both are good.

Now if an item you have worn and is now to big you have several choices what you can do with it. If it good enough to be donated to good will, women's shelter, or other such worthy cause you can wash it and then donate it or if it is clean you can skip the washing.

HOWEVER, I think most of us have some items that can not be passed on for further use. Be honest here...These are the bonus items I am talking about. The ones you don't have to wash again-Depending on what the item is it can be cut up and then used for cleaning purposes. You know the are just some times that call for something to be cleaned up and then just tossed. In those cases you don't even have to wash them again. That is better than just tossing them.

I am a big recycler. however- there are still some items that just shouldn't be used again. I am talking about- underwear. More specific panties. Some just need to be thrown out never to be seen again. there really are not that many reasons this is the case- either they are stretched out or they have holes, tears or stains. These are the bonus items I am really talking about. you can wear them and then toss them. Less laundry, less folding time.
That is the bonus I am really referring to here. Just Toss and go. I just tossed one and it felt GREAT!

Then when that happens enough times you get shopping time because panties- let us just face it. For most of us is something we just don't like to go without.

Now- I know some that go without any- well this NSB just is never going to happen for you and you are missing out.

LOL! Sometimes I feel like there's more laundry, because of the exercise gear. But you're right--you can squeeze more in each load as the clothes get smaller.

And it is soooooo important to get rid of things that don't make you feel like a star. Even the undies!! :-)

OOooh, I'm looking forward to this laundry-step in life~!! I have 2 pair of cords that fit right now--and they *should* be able to be passed along to someone else. But I'm gonna take my all-cotton underwear and burn 'em. Cotton in the firepit, ashes into the garden---weird, but it'll be good for them to be GONE.
