Do you feel good about your weightloss journey?

Thursday, January 10, 2013

I personally feel very blessed. I feel that I can accomplish anything. I feel that there is hope for my future. All this came as I made the decision to exercise and eat better. For years I lived not wanting to try. More to the point afraid to do so. When I got past the fear not being able to I am plain simply motivated. Each week I am finding things I want to try. Such as jump ropping, I still need to try snow shoeing (there hasnt been much snow this year), I even found a gardening magazine at the library and now want to grow a garden the only problem is finding a place. Maybe I will ask my brother if we can do one at his house. What I am trying to say all this happened because I took a step out of my apartment, out of my comfort zone to try something new. That is my tip today. To get out of your comfort zone and try something new. I hope everyone who reads this will be encouraged!

I've found that real commitment works better than motivation. I thnk we're all motivated or we wouldn't end up here, on SparkPeople. But I know from past experience - both with weight loss and quitting smoking - that real commitment FEELS different.

I'm not sure how to describe it to anyone else, but both times I've had it going for me, I've known it. (And I'm really sick of those posts I made a year, two years ago, saying, "Hey, Sparkpeople, I'm back - tail between my legs but more determined than ever!" Because I didn't have that COMMITMENT. Mentally, I was already carving out exceptions and justifications.)

Thanks for stopping by my blog - glad you're had a good week, too! I can't exercise as much as I'd like to (okay - I don't LIKE to, but should) because I've got a broken foot, and it's just clunky and awkward and getting in my way. :) Another three weeks, though...
