...before I really forget.
I stopped drinking caffeine/diet soda on December 31, 2012.
That's really the important date to remember. I know that I made terrible choices over the holiday break with my family...lots of alcohol, sweets, big meals, etc. Nothing good really. And although I started making healthier choices about ten days ago, I haven't weighed myself for many months. So tonight is the night. I'm going to a college basketball game and will weight myself either before or after the game. This will be the scale I use on a regular basis as well, so I have to start someday, right?
Another highlight for my year so far, yesterday I had nearly zero pain in my back. As a little background, I herniated a disc in my back in college, about ten years ago, and live with daily or chronic pain. Yesterday I realized that the pain was gone. It didn't stay gone, but I am trying to celebrate the little victories, right? I have been drinking more water, sleeping better at night, and taking fish oil pills. I'll try anything short of surgery, to fix the pain. And as long as things seem to be working, I'll keep it going. Can't hurt right? :)
